WELCOME TO ANIMATIONINFO!!!

Mon Sep 17, 2007, 10:17 AM by ~AkiraShimada:iconAkiraShimada:
DeviantART's cartoon and animation resource!

Welcome to animationinfo. Animationinfo is the place for tutorials on animation, drawing, character design, software, and anything YOU can think of. If you know anything about animation that could help beginning animators, send us a note with your name, location, tell us what you've done in animation, your specialty (e.g. Flash, traditional animation, 3DSMax, Maya, Truespace, Swift) and a blurb of you tutorial. Also, please tell us if you're planning on making more tutorials. Wait for our approval.
Aspiring animators, feel free to devWatch us so you won't miss anything!

NEWS!
Okay, so I'm still on my own. School and work have been killing. But I'm slowly getting motivated to start doing some more for animationinfo.
I need to get it into my routine, as I'm a slacker. I am going to try to submit a bi-weekly animation tutorial. First up is a set of tutorials about the 12 Principles of Animation, and maybe a few tutorials on different animation programs.
I'm starting tonight!
EDIT: I was using Scribe, but for some reason it messed up everytime I imported one specific image. Also, I've been really busy with other things. I will work on a few others tonight to fill up this lack of updates.

EDIT: The first bi-weekly tutorial is now here: [link]
I wrote it last night, and I spent all day today making the layout and screenshots. For those interested, I used Scribus, an open-source Desktop Publishing program.

EDIT2: I haven't forgotten about this biweekly thing, I'm just dealing with some copyright issues. The next article will be about the history of animation. Trying to get permission to use some images.

NOTE:
The tutorial on how to make an animation stand has been a lot of work so far. I made mine with a do-it-yourself table with pre-made parts. I had to design that table again so that you could make it yourself. However, this is a terrible amount of work, and should only be done by professionals. Most of deviantART's member are children so the chance of them being professionals is really small. So, I had to come up with a better idea that would be easier to make, better for learners, and still work well. I'm now working on a much simpler idea. It will be something to put on your table so that you don't have to construct an entire table yourself, and it's cheaper.

DevWatchers, sorry for having this in messagecenter again, but I have to re-upload this journal to keep it on the front-page.
I am looking for people who want to help me!
School's getting a little heavy right now, and I can't do everything by myself. The stuff will be there, just a little later. I want people to make more tutorials for animationinfo.
You need experience in animation. By that I mean not the usual Flash animations around here (unless it's at the level of ~LFF1127 =P Other stuff here is good too, but usually completely ignoring the principles of animation making it look ugly. I know some others who are great, =sereneworx is cool, and ~KingDoc is too, these guys use the principles very well.) I want people with thorough knowledge of animation, and people who are enthusiastic about animation too, no matter what style. Help is greatly appreciated! :)
